Great story

I just have to write about my dear friend Moira, who is embarking on losing weight. She is pushing herself along, and in order to keep on the straight and narrow she is posting her progress on a scrapbooking forum. Everyone is behind her 100% but what a set back she had yesterday. I hope you don’t mind that I have put this up here Moi, I just thought it was such a good read! This is what she said…

Weigh in time.
I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that I have lost half a kilo from last week.
The first part of the bad news is that I only lost half a kilo.

I was feeling very despondent about this because I have exercised for at least half an hour at a brisk pace every day, and I haven’t had any real lapses in eating. We had some friends over last Tuesday night before they left Canberra, and I had a spoonful of cream on the low fat berry dessert I made … and another spoonful of cream on the low fat apple strudel I made when some other friends came over on Saturday night. But apart from a glass or two of wine on each of those nights, that’s it!

I really thought that with BFing and all I would definitely lose at least a kilo.
Anyway after my despondence DH went out and bought some whizz-bang scales he’s just read about it Choice, that measure body fat and water content (it all has to do with a small electrical charge that goes through you to measure it). He thought that it would be better for me to really get a picture of my weight because our existing scales are about 15 years old, and I could be building up muscle. And I must admit, my clothes do seem that little bit less snug.

Well. The most depressing part about getting new scales is finding out how inaccurate the old ones are.
This is the second part of the bad news. I actually weigh 5 kilos more than I thought. Which means I have 5 kilos more to lose!!

Keep up the good work Moira. You are doing well!
