Ooops – didn’t post yesterday!!

I’ve broken the challenge – the day got away from me!! 🙂 Our trip to Bowral went well, we saw some lovely houses, but it didn’t feel right. I’m trying to work out exactly to put into words everything that is boggling my brain.

Becasue we own our own business (it is 2 years stong) we have to think about it first and then us. Basically if we went to Bowral it would make the business suffer becasue Jusin needs to be one-on-one with clients, there is no IT industry in the town (a lot of retirerees and rick folk!!) and if we had no money we wouldn’t be able to live! The house prices were equivalent to that in Canberra so again it seemed silly to buy there for what we would get here anyway.

I was bitterly disappointed mainly becasue I want to move out of this place so bad, and I saw Bowral as the answer. Oh well. As much as it didn’t work out, it did make a few things clearer to us, and that is that we need a plan to aim towards to make sure that we are moving in the direction that we want to be going in. So that we can make the business thrive and run itself and leave us the time to enjoy ourselves. So today we started to look for houses in Canberra. We took a drive around to see what suburbs we like and the ones we don’t, and we’ll just keep going from there!!

Bsuy week nest week with concerts and parties and family events. Out tonight to a BBQ with friends – hmmm should I start the week with a hangover??? Probably not a great idea!

Hope you lovely lassies all had a great weekend – and any blokes who happen to be reading this!!

Weekend fast approaching

Posted on

Yippee – it’s nearly Saturday. We are going to visit Bowral – a cute town in NSW – to investigate how livable it would be for us. I have fantasised about living there for ages, so why not??

I’m really looking forward to seeing the streets, the schools, the shops and potential houses. As much as it is scary to think about moving, I have to do it. I have lived in Canberra my whole life (except for one year in Sydney while at uni) and it is time for me to broaden my horizons, break some ties and develop myself. Sometimes I lose focus on who I am – I feel that people I have known all my life have opinions on who I should be, and I don’t know if that person is really me. Perhaps I bring a lot of others assumptions on myself, but I want a chance to find me in a place I’ve never lived, and see if I can blossom into the persn I know is inside me. Hmmm, does that make sense!! Probably not 🙂

Anyway, it is exciting for my little family to have this road trip this weekend, and if it works out then all the better!

Hope ya’ll have a great weekend too.

Kids!

Posted on

Right now I am at the end of my tether. These kids are driving me freaken crazy. Meg is in her corner crying, Holly is in bed sulking, and Jess has been put to bed too. All day it has been a connect the dots of incidences that involve me picking up their mess, breaking up their petty arguments, badgering them to pick up their mess and eventually me picking up their mess. I am so sick of it. It is too early for a glass of wine???

PS – I am fed up with waiting for my scrapboxx delivery. It has been 2 months since I ordered. Sheesh – I just want my AC ribbons – is that too much to ask?? Oh and for my children to play lovingly with each other and never say a cross word 😉

Tuesdays

Posted on

I love Tuesdays. 1 goes to preschool and 2 go to daycare, and I have the day to myself!! It is so quiet right now all I can hear is the computer humming and the birds outside. Whilst I was revelling in the serenity this morning, Rach rang and asked me to join her for a spot of shopping at the Mall. How could I resist???

Off we went. How much fun was it to have some grown up company whilst braving the maddness of the mall. Specifically the rather loud argument that was occuring in the long line of the ATM. People where shouting and hurling abuse at the family taking a bit too long getting their money. It was shocking! Where is your Christmas spirit people????

Rach is a bad influence and convinced me to by the most FABULOUS dress for an upcoming wedding, from Portman’s (a place I haven’t shopped at for about 15years). I’m glad she did though because I never would have even gone in there, let alone try it on, without her!! Bless your heart.

Off to a Christmas Party tonight at the National Museum of Australia for IBM. They always put on a good show so I know it will be a blast.

Thanks everyone for your comments – it is lovely to know that other’s are reading my ramble 😉

Busy morning

Earlier in the week Justin asked me if I could arrange for my mum to mind the kids for a few hours on Sunday morning so he could take me somewhere – a surprise!!

So I sorted it out with mum and waited for the surprise. Would it be brunch at the Hyatt or a shopping spree at Harvey Norman for Plasma TV or something romantic like a picnic by the lake????

Noooooooooooooooo – it was a bikeride around the lake. One and half gruelling hours, pedalling into the wind, huffing & puffing and swallowing bugs. It was tough, but I did it, and then we road into the city and stopped at our favouite place, Cafe Essen, for breakfast and a coffee. In all honesty it was great 😉 and I feel so much better for the excerise. After the weeding yesterday my butt is super sore and my thighs feel like steel, but it was worth it and I loved spending time with my husband.

After that we picked up the kids and took them swimming. We are the super family!!!

Needless to say, I have just woken up from a nap cause I was soooo tired. Might do a bit of scrapbooking now.

CYA tomorrow 😉

Music

After reading Rach’s post on Music I have to say 3 things.

1. My music purchases are so few and far between that the most recent thing I bought was Hi-5, Play school nursury rhymes and Missy Higgins (hasn’t she been out for a year or so!!).

2. I can’t wait to get an iPod or some other MP3 player for Christmas so that I can learn what the Foo Fighters sing, understand who the hell ‘Jet’ is, and finally get up with the latest INXS (who is the new lead singer anyway!).

3. Holly asked me today if I have ever heard “Bat out of Hell”. Now if she is that up with music, then I have a long way to go!!!

SO I am embarrassed to say that 2 of my dear friends (Rach and Moi) have more music experience than I’ll ever have in my lifetime, but I’m not too embarrassed to say that in the car my kids love Abba and Freddy Mercury (how pathetic is that I don’t even know the name of his band!!).

Till tomorrow then…..I’ll be back (thanks to Rach’s challenge of a blog a day). 🙂

Morning tea

Posted on

I had a phone last night from my very heavily pregnant, but totally gorgeous friend Jane. She asked us out to morning tea to take her mind off the fact that it was her due date and nothing was happening! Holly took some Photos while we were with her….

99 This is the belly in question. When will this baby arrive??

I got goose bumps saying goodbye to her because I was thinking “the next time I see her, she’ll have a baby in her arms”. Life is amazing. Good luck Jane, I hope it all goes well (and quick) for you. xxx

Introducing Mstr Dash Freeman

96 I accepted the challenge from Fiona Carter (via Julie L) to take a photo of your pet with a Christmas theme. It was a bit frantic this morning doing this, and if the truth be known, if you want something done right don’t ask your husband! Now that he’s gone to work, I’ll see if I can do a better job!! HEHEHE – i hope he doesn’t read this today 🙂

Anyhoo, this is Dash, our 7 month old Daschund. He is soooo black that he doesn’t show up well in photos, and if he didn’t widdle on the carpet on Wednesday he’d be the perfect pet!

Thanks for the challenge 😉
