It’s raining, It’s pouring

…..I wish I were snoring.

So tired today – Amy screamed a lot of the night again. It is funny that this has been going on for so long, well 9 months actually, and each night I say “This will be the one that she sleeps through” and it never is and I never do anything about it. So last night amongst tears and door slamming and banging walls I decided that I am going to the clinic and not leaving until they give me a week at the baby sleep centre. Even as I write this I am thinking of reasons why I should chicken out. How bad do I feel that the 4th Baby is the one I can’t do anything with. You would think I would know it all.

Holly is home sick so I’ll be dragging all four kids to that clinic for effect.

At least it is raining. That is good 🙂

Edited to add:
I went. I waited for an hour but didn’t chicken out. I walked into the nurse and burst into tears. Sooky sooky lala me!! Anyway, she is referring me to the sleep centre for a 4 night stay and I now feel that there is a little ray of light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you everyone for backing me up and your inspirational words of wisdom. I really appreciate it 🙂

  1. Oh Fran you poor thing. I have so much sympathy for you….I only have the 2 kids & I am not coping too well with Charli’s waking up at night (bl**dy teeth & runny nose!).
I don’t know how you do it with 4. I would be a cranky awful Mum that is for sure – OK so worse than I already am 🙂

I hope the clinic can help you. I don’t think you should feel that you don’t know what you are doing & that by having 4 you should. They are all different. They all try us in different ways don’t they 🙂 some earlier in life than others.

Good luck. PICK UP THAT PHONE!!!

    Sandi 🙂

  2. Hey make that call girl. Sleep is essential, especially when you have 4 kids. You may need to take some blankets and soup if you plan a sit in at the clinic. If you need more numbers in your possie give me a buzz. Luv Caz

  3. Hi Fran – you poor thing 9 months is a long time of sleepless nights!! I cried at the clinic with Heidi and that’s when they put me into QE2 (for feeding) but all the others in their were for sleeping. Its good -they were really nice and no cooking for 4 nights!! If you can arrange for the other girls to be looked after it is well worth it and I have heard many stories of people who have gone in for sleeping and it has worked wonders. Good luck – let me know if you ever want me to come over for a play so you can have some zzz – I am more than happy to.
    Cathy xx
PS The rain is SO nice – Heidi said this morning “lets stay home today mum and in our PJ’s” – what a great plan so that’s what we have done….

  4. Good on you Fran. I hope you do get some help & relief soon. I am sure that is really normal to walk in & burst into tears – well it is in my world.lol.

Man 4 nights there sounds somewhat like heaven to me right now! As Cathy said…NO COOKING!!! How heavenly does that sound. Hope it helps with the sleeping – maybe you can then give me all your tips.

    Sandi 🙂

  5. I only just read this, I’m so glad you’re booked in already. I’m sure it will help. I went with Jools when she was 9 months and still waking six times a night. There was another mum who was there with her fifth baby – her fifth baby just didn’t do things the same way her first four did. Wishing you an easy time til you get to QEII. (And if you don’t like the food, it’s only ten minutes walk to Curtin shops for chocolate and trashy mags.)

  6. Oh Fran. 🙁 Do let me know if there’s anything I can do. I am happy to look after your four while you have a break and/or rest any weekend. Hopefully everything will get sorted during your stay. xxx
P.S. Well done Holly on the report and yes I do have a black hole too!
