Pre Schoolers..sheesh!

I have just done a talk at Holly’s pre school about hearing. It was lots of fun, but my target audience is not what I am used to. Previously my presentations were for health care professionals, teachers etc, but a bunch a four yr olds was a hard task. They kept interuppting with comments like “my ears were blocked once”, or “you’re Holly’s mum” or my favourite one “eggs can’t hear”. When I asked them all to sit quietly, listen to the sounds around them and tell me what they could hear, the first one said “the rain”. Good answer I replied. Next one “the rain”, – OK, anything else, I say? Next one “the rain” – not ones for going out on a limb here!

Their hightlight was getting a bookmark and pencil from my ex-emplyer Australian Hearing. Now they think Holly’s mum is really cool!
