Meg is a treasure

Posted on

Meg has emerged from the terrible two’s.

Over the past few weeks she has turned into a really delighful little girl. Yesterday we had the whole day together (Holly went on a play date with her friend Jaymie) and it was such a pleasure to be with her. She loves playing with Dash and just hanging out with me and helping me with whatever I am doing. Mum and Dad came for dinner (belated Fathers Day thing) and she was just so funny trying to swirl around and leap like a ballerina. She had a fancy dress on with her clumpy sneakers, so it was more like an unco-ordinated hippo trying to prance like a gazelle! I am looking forward to many more enchanting days with my new-improved lovely daughter Meggie.

The Ballet

Last night I took Holly to see the Ballet for the first time. We got all dressed up in our finery, collected the tickets, had a champagne (she had tickle juice) and then went in. Holly was jsut so excited and couldn’t wait for it to start. The music was playing, the theatre was dark and then the curtains rose. She was surprised by that “cause curtains usually go across Mum”! The costumes were amazing and the ballerina’s looked divine. She was awestruck by the lights and colour and glitter. The dancing was beautiful and she really liked the shoes and dresses.

She is quite familiar with the story of Sleeping Beauty and also with the music as we have the DVD. At one point the music was a song we recognised and we turned to each other and sang the lyrics. I can truly say, and I know it sounds gushy, but we shared that moment. It was really special.

All in all a good night, and I’ll certainly be taking her along to another show the next time those muscley Russians return to Australia.

Baby Boy

Posted on

I just had word that my gorgeous friend Laura gave birth to a baby boy, Jasper, on the 3rd September. I saw some photos and he is cute as. I wonder what it would be like to have a boy in the family? Dash doesn’t really count. Still toying with the idea of having another baby, but I really like my life as it is now and the whole pregnancy thing is so tiring. Not making any decisions right now, it is enough to have my friends having the babies for a change!

I always have a chuckle when I read this..

Popping the question…..

7.30am, fast asleep with the flu and the phone rings. It is my youngest brother James. He is all excited and happy cause he just asked his girlfriend Sascha to marry him. She said yes of course.

This is very exciting for us as Sascha is a Sydney girl and the wedding will be very flash indeed.
