Sweet dessert

Posted on

It is one of those cold, rainy, wintery nights and I just feel like some yummy dessert.  Thought I’d make some apple pies…easy way of course.

Using shop puff pastry sheets, cut them into quarters and brush with some melted butter.  Sprinkle lightly with a brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.  Plonk on some tinned apples.

Then turn over the pastry from one corner to the other, and press down the side with a fork.  Place on a baking tray.  Brush again with melted butter and sprinkle a little extra sugar on the top.

Whack them in the oven till they are browned and crispy.  Serve with custard or ice cream, or both!

Crochet

New project on the crochet front is this Diagonal stitch that I am making into a blanket.  I like it.  It was tricky to start cause I was learning from photographs and I can’t read a pattern, but in the end I got the hang of it, and now I am bulldozing ahead.

Another project

With Pinterest peaking my love of craft, I have been getting into a fair bit of it these days.  Today it is rainy and cold, so I grabbed a canvas and got crafty.

Firstly I nailed little tacks into the wooden border, all around the edge, in no particular order.

Then I grabbed all my random cottons and got winding.
This is the end result.

Then I grabbed chip board letters, flowers and buttons and fiddled around until I thought it looked right.  I stuck then on using the glue gun.

And the neaten up the back and hide all the cotton tags and ends I covered it in card stock, and staple gunned a hanging string.  Ready to give to my niece for her 4th birthday.

Easy peasy.  And the day is done and I have to get the kids from school!
