New wool and a new project. Finished this one – LOVE IT! New scarf for those cold mornings on the netball courts.
I love being crafty, and when I get a bit of time, or an idea, I really get into it
Love the colours in this new blankie for Amy. And the pattern for the petals is new too. Tried a different technique for stitching them all together and I have to say I still prefer the old hidden seam way. Anyhoo, she loves it and even though it has not replaced her old blankie, it may one day – It is sure to outlast the old one anyway!
This bright spring flower blanket I made for Penny for her 40th. She and Adele are loving it and it is keeping them toasty on some chilly spring mornings.
and I have made a pillow!! This one is for a friend’s little bubba who has turned one. I made the baby a blankie when she was born and it is still holding together and very much loved, so this is the next thing. Maybe she’ll get slippers next year!
So in the past I have made a lot of blankets. Blankets for babies, blankets for the kids and even blankets for strangers as part of a drive to support kids in hospital.
Jessica has never had a blanket!
It has been only recently that she alerted me to this fact. I think it is because she always had her favourite blanket that was a Pumpkin Patch one given to her at birth. She refused to sleep with anything else, so there was never a need for her to have another blankie. Anyhoo, she was starting to feel a bit left out of the mother love, and kept mentioning that she wanted a blanet. So I gathered up all my odds and ends that were in some sort of colour scheme and went ahead to make 48 little squares to stitch together. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but last night I finished the border, tucked in the straggly ends and attached some crochet flowers that I made….. and Voila….I think it is just beautiful.
She was asleep by the time it was a all completed so I placed it over her in bed and in the morning she woke up to it. She loved it. Very much worth the effort to make jsut to see how much she appreciated it. She looked gorgeous all wrapped up in it.
This is my beautiful Jess last week on her 9th Birthday. Isn’t she stunning. She is a gorgeous kid, happy and smily and just so willing to do what is right. She is a joy. Happy birthday Honey xxx
Got a bit crafty for the season and had the girls make bauble wreaths. They were super easy and took about 70 baubles each. I totally wiped out Hot Dollar! This red and green one is Amy ‘s.
